Wave of possible brain damage due to corona
7/2020
Scientists warned today, Wednesday, of a possible wave of brain damage resulting from infection with the Corona virus, as new evidence indicated that corona can lead to severe complications in the nervous system, including inflammation, psychosis, and delirium.
A study by researchers at the University of London described 43 people with corona who suffered either from temporary brain dysfunction, strokes, nerve damage, or other dangerous effects on the brain. The research reinforces recent studies that also concluded that the disease can damage the brain.
"We'll see if we're going to see a large-scale pandemic of pandemic-related brain damage, which may be similar to the carotid encephalitis pandemic in the 1920s and 1930s, after the Spanish influenza pandemic in 1918 ".
Covid-19, the disease caused by the Corona virus, is primarily a respiratory disorder that affects the lungs, but neurologists and doctors specializing in the brain say that evidence showing that it has an effect on the brain is worrying.
In a University of London study published in "Brain" magazine, it was diagnosed that nine patients suffering from encephalitis had a rare type called encephalitis, and the prevalent acute marrow, which is more prevalent among children, and may be caused by a viral infection.
