A team of Chilean scientists announced the discovery of "antibodies in alpaca are the strongest in the world" in the fight against the emerging corona virus.
"Antibodies will confront the virus, but it will not eliminate it completely, but people who receive treatment can create other antibodies that help in the long run to strengthen their immunity," said Alejandro Rojas, head of experiments and head of the Laboratory of Medical Biotechnology at the University of Austral in Chile.
Scientists from all over the world are studying ways to take advantage of the immune system of the aesthetic family to combat the emerging corona virus because it produces a more simple and efficient type of antibody to recognize viruses and bacteria.
And the team of scientists at the University of Austral in Chile and some of them qualified in the Supreme Council for Scientific Research in Spain, studies on antibodies need about six months to achieve satisfactory results.
However, Rojas called for some kind of funding to cover about two million dollars in cost of the experiment, stressing that it is "an important issue globally and nationally."
