A British scientist from the University of Oxford gave a new surprise to the theories of the origins of the Coronavirus, saying that the virus was "latent" years ago around the world and not only in China, and because of favorable environmental conditions or population density had been activated.
Many British viruses remain "inactive" around the world, and appear when environmental conditions are favorable and allow them to reappear, said British Professor Tom Jefferson, from the Evidence-Based Medicine Center at Oxford University.
Based on a series of discoveries and evidence, Tom pointed out that the effects of "Covid-19" were found in sanitation samples from Spain, Italy and Brazil in March 2019, 9 months before it appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
The virus was also found in samples taken in Turin and Milan, Italy last December.
Speaking about the possibility that the virus did not originate in China, Professor Tom told the British Daily Telegraph: "Strange things like this have happened with the Spanish flu." That killed about 100 million people.
"In 1918, about 30% of the population of Western Samoa died from the Spanish flu, and they had no contact with the outside world."
Tom explained that viruses are always present, and there is something that helps activate them, perhaps population density or environmental conditions, stressing the need to research this matter and study it well.
The scientist said he believed the virus could be transmitted through a sewage system or shared toilets.
The virus - called SARS-CoV-2 - is believed to be spread mainly by talking drops, coughing and sneezing.
